Kromofor is a color grading boutique based in Reykjavík, Iceland owned and run by senior colorist Ted Karlsson. We focus only on color grading and motion picture finishing. Our work features international TV commercials, documentaries, for the web, short films and digital cinema. With our high end HD, 2K, 4K & 3D equipment from Sony together with Blackmagic Design’s DaVinci Resolve we deliver TV, Web and DCP masters with the outmost quality that bear our high end only stamp.

With todays demanding schedules and the latest technology our clients, directors and cinematographers doesn’t need to physically sit with in the grading suite, at Kromofor we provide our live remote grading service with DaVinci Resolve and Skype so the director can still be in Los Angeles as the cinematographer is in New York, both simultaneously watching the grading, in real time from our grading suite in Reykjavík.

Kromofor is also the swedish word for a chromophore, the part of a molecule responsible for its color. The color arises when a molecule absorbs certain wavelengths of visible light and transmits or reflects others which the eye then later sees and translates as for an example, the red color on a strawberry. So without Kromofor, there would be no color.
